About me
JR Moores a freelance writer based in the North of England. Specialising in music, comedy, culture and history, he has written for Drowned In Sound, The Quietus, Record Collector, Under The Radar, Red Bull, MTV, Rock-a-Rolla, Bandcamp Daily, Kerrang!, Vice, Chortle and The Guardian. In addition, he produces academic works on cartoons, caricature and comic art, the details of which can be found here: http://bit.ly/1PaMiqo He is currently resident psych-rock columnist for The Quietus and Record Collector and also has experience in playlist curation, copywriting, proofreading, teaching and lecturing. His first book about music, Electric Wizards: A Tapestry of Heavy Music, 1968 to the Present, was published by Reaktion in 2021.
