About me
Hey there! I’m Juan Escallon, a digital designer and trend researcher living in London who's passionate about visual creation, innovation and pasta pomodoro. I started designing and creating things since i was 15 years old, maybe that can explain why i am the only Colombian who doesn't know how to dance. My career path has taken me to different places like Madrid (IED) and the biggest game changer for me, London (Goldsmiths University) where i studied my masters degree in Digital Media and Technology.
Projects
  • Sonny Sanjay Vagdama
Sonny Sanjay VagdamaPoster design for multi media artist Sonny Sanjay Vadgama´s 2015 exhibition at Cambridge university and Fitzwilliam museum
  • MCNY
MCNYMadrid based beauty nail spa MCNY "Mi Calle de Nueva York" wanted to surprise their costumers. For them, I crafted and designed a new type of menu. As the brand is inspired by New York City life i designs a menu that looked like The New York Times. The menu offered different services the shop offers and also included a variety of articles for the costumers to read while they were at the spa. The menu was also dragged to be easily updated monthly with new articles and beauty tips.
  • PCM
PCMPCM is the personal thesis project of my product design degree. PCM (Poncho, Carpa, Manta) is a multifunctional product that helps and offers valuable services to the affected families of the Colombian monsoon rains. The end result covers three pivotal necessities. Depending on the number of products a family has, PCM can be transformed from a poncho, to a sleeping bag, and finally into tent. Beyond its practical use, the idea of constructing a necessary tool in a time of crisis by unifying multiple elements brought together by different people conveys a message of union and community. PCM includes the UI design of an offline app the helps users relocate with their family members by informing users where are the Emergency Meeting Points depending on the color of the kit they where assigned (color depends on first letter of the users surnames )
  • In House Magazine
In House MagazineInhouse communication agency decided to step up and release their own corporate magazine. For them, I designed a web and hard copy magazine using the esthetics of the brand. The magazine consisted of a annual report about the company, their services and clients.
  • Dear Bob
Dear BobMadrid´s Dear Bob Communication Agency was looking for a fresh new branding identity. I drafted and designed a new visual concept for them inspired in the traditional American notebook.
