Degree in Design
I Graduated in Design at Madrid School of Design (2014) with the specialty of product.From my point of view, this has given me a chance to think about book design like objects, a global view. Since my years in the degree I developed strong graphic and communicative skills.
Enthusiasm, and love for publishing world.
I started my career working as a product designer, but soon I realized that I loved
graphic and the world of illustration; the idea that I can make a book attractive for
the customer inspires me. And the challenge to reflect the essence of a story, poem or essay motivates me.
Team spirit and great communication skills
I consider that team work is always a way to learn and improve as a professional,
and help to make more cared books. I enjoy participating in the creative process, of course with a respectful attitude and a desire to learn and grow.
Strong graphic skills
I have a good grasp of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustration. During my career used them for illustration, photo retouching, matte painting, brand design, layout, etc. in fact, I feel comfortable with this type of software and I can learn faster if it is necessary.
Experience
I’ve spent my last two years working as a freelance. During this time, I did a lot of
book covers, editorial illustration and advertising for magazines, banners, posters
and EP for music bands, and recently I start to work with a Spanish publishing house named Egales where I design covers, inner layout, inner illustration and covers layouts. When I create covers and illustrations, I love to use a surreal and symbolic language. I use that to turn real invisible ideas like emotions, feelings, or any abstract concepts. My work is based in analogical and digital collage, but I use the digital photomontage too. In addition, I have knowledge about digital painting, 3D modeling, rendering and a little of animation with After Effects. I consider my style might be useful for publishing houses, and I can get different registers depending the type of brief.
