  • Jazz Festival
    Jazz FestivalI worked on the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in 2013 and 2014. This role consisted primarily of event production - from site set up, to setting up the events, crowd management, artist liaison, and health and safety practices.
  • Race for Life
    Race for LifeI worked as an Events Assistant and Marketing intern for Cancer Research UK, I carried out multiple projects, promotional activities and worked on their Race for Life events.

    Events Coordinator
    • Main contact for all enquiries relating to private dining, meetings and events within the Cheltenham hotel. • The hotel also has 49 bedrooms, and I am responsible for group accommodation bookings attached to the events • I communicate with guests to ensure all details are collected and that all requirements are met, along with any special requests. • Research new business opportunities, and develop relationships with potential clients to generate and increase revenue • Maintain database management using systems such as Opera and Quadranet • Involved with weekly forecasting; reporting weekly revenue uplift and successes • Involved with monthly profit and loss reports; tracking how my department is performing month on month, and highlighting where improvements can be made. • Telesales – call past bookers to generate further business and establish relationships • Liaise with all departments with regards to promotions, events and regular guests • Maintain relationships with existing accounts to increase revenue • Negotiate rates with clients to win business within the competitor market • Assess business on the books, forecast against budget, and consistently exceed budget each month • As well as exceeding budget expectations, I have also won several brand nationwide sales conversion competitions • Run weekly operational meetings to communicate all event details to heads of departments • Work closely with clients to upsell, increase average spends and encourage repeat business • Encourage online reviews for the hotel • Respond in a timely manner to telephone and website enquires.     Marketing Intern

    Worked within the Central Regions marketing and events team to deliver Cancer Slam promotional events, painting the towns pink, and assisted in delivering promotional and marketing materials to support the Race for life and Pretty Muddy events for Summer 2014. • Involved in a project to motivate and encourage group leaders already signed up to Race for Life to boost fundraising and moral. • Project managed a trial Gym initiative at CRUK, promoting in gyms across the region to encourage group signups for Race for Life • Created and project managed a regional promotional database, contacting or visiting schools in the central region to encourage signups for Race for Life • Assisted in regional promotional activity launches • Worked from home and organised local door to door’ promotional activity, in schools, companies, and stores.
