June Mineyama-Smithson (MAMIMU) is a London-based Japanese artist/graphic designer. Lecturer at UAL, D&AD judge and speaker at Design London, Birmingham Design Festival, and Design Manchester. Her bold joyful work has been featured internationally on Creative Boom, Fast Company, Design Milk, SCMP and Cow Parade Niseko.
Her interest in combining art and science to find the ‘Optimum Optimism’ lead to a collaboration with neuroscientist Dr Tara Swart, which resulted in the creation of on-screen idents for ITV.

- ITV x London College of Communication Graduate- Optimum OptimismArtist, and London College of Communication (LCC) graduate, June Mineyama-Smithson, has collaborated with a neuroscientist to create a new ident for ITV, as part of the channels ITV Creates project. The project aims to spread optimism across the UK for Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from 10 – 16 May 2021.7
