Born in Melbourne in 1991, I have lived in Australia for 4 years, and later moved with my parents to Poland. Since then, I have been living in Warsaw, and completed my BA at the prestigious Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. In 2013, I decided to move to London, and completed my Master's degree with a Distinction, at Camberwell College of Arts. In June 2015, I was awarded by the international 3x3, The Magazine of Contemporary Illustration, for my "Bestiary" series. In 2015, I also became a member of the Association of Illustrators in London. I have participated in 6 group exhibitions in London, and many more in Warsaw. I have participated in two International Artist Residencies in Beacon, NY, USA. I am looking for commissions related to Children's or Adult Illustration, and cover designs.
Projects
- BestiaryThe Bestiary is a series of four pieces that have been specifically created for an exhibition at Chelsea College in 2015. They are based on Jose Luis Borge's "The Book of Imaginary Beings". I have decided to illustrate the Basilisk, Salamander, Fastitocalon and Baldanders. The Basilisk is a well known beast in popculture, mainly thanks to the "Harry Potter" series. I have, however decided to create a less known medieval version of the basilisk. I I continued on working with the same approach whi
- Seasonal Lovers"Seasonal Lovers" was a project created specially for the ISSUU competition, in 2014. The series was inspired with Chagall's series of lovers in various colour compositions. I decided to create my own version, depicting different feelings and emotions the lovers experienced. It was an experiment with mixed media, such as acrylic paints, collage, watercolours, pastels and ink. It was also a psychological experiment, trying to show the relationship between the two people, and the way the colours affected the figures.
- Moz, the Tube MouseThis project was formerly my Master's degree from Illustration at Camberwell College of Arts. I have considered many different styles for my main character. It is meant to be a children's book, the protagonist is a London Tube mouse, that lives between the stations Elephant& Castle and Lambeth North, on the Bakerloo Line. She has spent her entire life underground. One day, she decides to go off on a journey, meets new friends and has numerous adventures exploring London and talking to famous illustrators about their artwork. The project, is still under construction,, and my intention is to publish the illustrations and my written text as a children's book in the nearest future.
- "The Adventures of Anatol F."Who is Anatol F.? Some say, he is an ineffective intellectual, who has failed both in the communist state and in democracy. Others regard him as a dreamer, or philosopher, who isn't capable of fighting for his dreams, neither anarchist nor socialist. Perhaps he is a reflection of the Polish society? Illustrating Anatol was an amazing challenge. The author of the book, Piotr Fr?czak, has asked me not to show Anatol's face. Henceforth, I had to find other ways of expressing Anatol, using scarves, hats and glasses. These objects made my character faceless, and yet he has never remained anonymous. This project was my first serious commission, when I was merely 19. Since then, I have illustrated many other characters, and yet Anatol F. remained a prominent figure. The book "The Adventures of Anatol F." has been published in 2009, by Kooperatywa Pozarz?dowa.
