About me
Karen is a Nigerian-American social entrepreneur owning various companies in the event planning and online business realm. Having been an avid blogger since starting a site with her two sorority sisters in 2013, Karen struggled to display diversity on it. Her experience with this major setback in the online world and knack for planning and marketing make her passionate to display what the web has been missing.
Projects

  • Her Big Day
Her Big DayHer Big Day is a cultural wedding and fashion show, website and blog. Her Big Day was created with the purpose of connecting brides to vendors specializing in the unique details of multicultural weddings.
  • Building Bridges Brunch
Building Bridges BrunchThe Building Bridges Brunch brings together an exclusive group of young women to celebrate their individual talents and to share by making a connection ("building a bridge") over brunch. The Building Bridges Brunch was created after Karen attended Oprah's "Life You Want Tour". Karen left the event inspired, but more importantly she realized that her ultimate goal in life is to build an empire of service. Recognizing the power in networking and also connecting with your inner self, Karen created a well-rounded brunch that encourages all guests to realize their vision in life. Every brunch guest leaves inspired ready to believe & achieve their big and small goals.

Championing Diversity: this Black History Month, meet 100 creatives inspiring changeWe asked 11 of our creative heroes to each nominate 10 leading black change makers and creators who are shaping the current climate with raw talent, big ideas and crazy hard work. There is still a huge disparity of BAME individuals in the creative industry. Currently only 13% of the creative industry workforce identify as coming from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. In addition, only 8% of senior positions have BAME representation. Spotlighting this subject is as important as ever. True d
