About me

If I had to describe myself in one word, that word would be ‘pragmatic’. I like to keep myself busy with useful and practical methods and finish the work at the end of the ride with a solution that works without any hiccups. On a daily basis, I keep myself busy with challenges, which could lead me to a higher level. I am studious, disciplined, motivated and always look to the positive principles ahead of me. If there is a problem I can’t solve, I will take a small break and brainstorm about the top three ideas that come in to my mind. I will try to realize those ideas in to technical terms and then decide which one is the best to use. Self-knowledge is an important point for me. By discovering what my good and less good points are, I can set up a planned way to reach my goals and try to achieve that goal step by step, by using the knowledge from previous projects, degrees and courses. Besides pragmatic actions, developing self-knowledge, having (personal) goals, I find it interesting to listen to others and share insight and knowledge. Also I find it important to work with other people, whether in small or larger teams – at the end of the day, working together is the key. I have done multiple courses, for which I have either finished or received a certificate. The reason for this path, is simply because I did not know in which sector my greatest passion would lay. My employers describe me as a social person, I like to make a joke now and then and work on a professional level with my colleagues. In my free time I like to spend extending my knowledge, programming & designing. Learn new disciplines, dive in to Machine Learning/AI, Blockchain Technologies and try out new crazy ideas.

  • In 2007 I started my own company. The term ‘self-employment’ appealed to me. During this period I have learned new disciplines and techniques. Developed my own self-knowledge, worked on my good and less good points in order to improve myself and always have a goal ahead of me. I started as a back-end PHP programmer, in which I have specialized myself in to. Eventually the graphical (front-end) part started to appeal me as well, where I started using Fireworks, eventually working towards Photoshop and Illustrator. In the beginning I was focused on developing my own projects and extending my self-knowledge, which I could use later when I felt I was confident enough to finish a project which was not my own. In 2008 I started to expand my portfolio, with small projects at first and later to some bigger projects, which includes a ‘marketplace’ system and several CMS’s. During this period I was also busy with several studies and courses, in which I could not use my full capacity to develop and or accept new projects. At the end of 2011 I finished my courses and started to focus on my company. I restored old contacts and started to work on projects full-time. As I finished more projects, my employers started recommending me to other companies, which benefited me greatly. In the period of 2007 till 2010 I have finished 20+ projects, relatively small projects with some exceptions. In the period of 2011 till end of 2011 I finished 7 medium projects and in the mean time I worked in the pharmacy to keep my pharmaceutical knowledge up to date. Starting 2012 till August 2013, I have finished 28 projects. Between August and September I was on a holiday at which I decided to move to the UK.
