Work history

Deputy Content Manager

Forward Worldwide

Mar 2014 - Dec 2015
  • I was deputy content manager for Tesco Baby Club. I managed the day-to-day running of the website, social and print assets alongside the part-time content manager and with the help of two content executives. Key Responsibilities: • CMS management – WordPress and TeamSite • Wrote copy for articles, advertorials, monthly newsletter and promo emails • Wrote monthly social media content plan • Wrote and maintained website content plan • Community management • Social scheduling • Social listening • Conducted live chats with experts on Facebook and Twitter • Planning and execution of paid social campaigns • Provided commentary for monthly social media report • Pulled data for social media reports • Liaised with Head of Social on social campaigns and paid ads • Liaised with the team’s designers and developers on all projects • Ensured best practice was being adhered to on social platforms • Kept up to date with social trends and platforms, informally passing this information on to the team • Campaign idea generation Outside of my Tesco Baby Club duties I helped run Forward’s blog and Twitter account. I set up a branded URL shortener for them and regularly tweeted industry insights and interesting articles. I grew the account’s following by 200%, even receiving a follow from Moz’s head of content. I live tweeted for the account from various events.

Social Media Manager

The Eighty Sixth Floor

Aug 2012 - Apr 2014
  • I worked as social media manager and marketing executive for The Eighty Sixth Floor, a digital music company who sell their content online. I created and oversaw all the social media channels for The Eighty Sixth Floor. I crafted a loyal following on Twitter through discussions and useful tweets. A highlight of which was followers asking for information regarding TV shows and films as they regarded the Twitter account as the go to place for information and insight. Proudest moment: I ‘live tweeted’ every episode of The Walking Dead series three and gained many followers including Gale Anne Hurd, producer of The Walking Dead. (What better accolade than that!) Key Responsibilities: • Writing social posts • Social scheduling • Community management • Writing daily blog posts • Writing product descriptions • Image optimisation for website and social • WordPress management

English and American Literature

University of East Anglia

Aug 2009 - Apr 2012
  • The writers of Britain and America are of course deeply connected: often they employ the same language, address the same readers, share the same cultural reference points. But at the same time, the two traditions differ sharply in their typical values and tones of voice. The School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing brings together writers, scholars, performers, teachers and students in an exploration of the powers and possibilities of literature. The School of American Studies brings together world-leading expertise in the visual arts, in film, television and media studies and in the literature, history, and culture of the United States, and the Atlantic and Pacific worlds. The School of American Studies is ranked 1st in the 2015 Guardian University Guide and 6th in the 2015 Complete University Guide for American Studies. The School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia has a long-established international reputation in literary studies.
