Alexander Street is an award winning publisher of online collections for libraries, teaching and education. I am the editor and product manager for the Theater and Drama portfolio. My role encompasses new business and product development (including the development of business cases and product requirements), digital product management, content acquisition and licensing, and internal and external relationship management. I liaise closely with our production, development, and finance teams to ensure that products are delivered within scope, on time, and on budget. I also coordinate with our sales, marketing, and account management teams to ensure products are presented on message and maintained for customer satisfaction. For the creation of excellent products, I target key content partnerships and nurture those relationships from negotiation through to contract renewal. My content partners range from book publishers to video producers to individuals, the majority of which have been brand new relationships to Alexander Street. In order to ensure that our products are successful, it is important to engage directly within the market to understand the needs of our users. Through conference attendance and panel presentations; the development relationships with key faculty, librarians, researchers, and other academic organizations; and the execution and analysis of online market research, I am able to ensure that my products reach their intended audience to maximum effect. I work and have worked closely on a number of large initiatives including the acquisition and integration of Insight Media, the development and growth of our single titles e-commerce platform, the production of a series of new video programs, the creation of an interdepartmental manual resource, and the wide-scale migration of legacy products.
