Last year I was offered a temporary position in the entertainment industry which was a fantastic opportunity. I was extremely interested and excited by the prospect of working for a live music venue in a new country. After graduating University of Kent I soon became a Drama Tutor for my community youth theatre, teaching children extra curricular drama workshops. During the same time I worked as an Administrative Assistant in an 'Outstanding' primary school. I have always enjoyed working in the performing arts. But the more recent experiences have further instilled my passion for music and events and the desire to continue working and developing my skills in this field. I am committed and willing to take on different roles at once. In my previous experiences I thrive when bringing order to chaos as I have achieved very successful results providing exceptional organisational and multi-tasking abilities. I am accustomed to independently prioritising my workload and working all hours required to ensure a successful outcome. I am a fast learner and I am always committed to providing professional customer service and support where necessary. Being a reliable a team player and a keen learner, I enjoy taking part in any additional training if and when required. It is my belief that I posses the accuracy and proficiency necessary to meet the expectations of this industry.
I managed private room bookings, all reservations and queries for a bespoke pop-up venue in South London, providing live entertainment, DJ's, dancers, street food and festive cocktails as well as bottomless brunch sessions. I managed the guest-list, ticketing and admission fees on the door, providing exceptional customer service at all times. I hosted and arranged all visitors requests upon arrival, dealing with deposits & payments, while assisting the Hospitality & Marketing Manager as and when required. The company has now changed the theme for its future summer event, where it is now called Brixton Beach Boulevard.
I was the first point of contact to all artists throughout the duration of their stay, providing exceptional customer service at all times. I assisted the Production Manager & Creative Director, creating show documents, ground transport schedules, credentials and weekly expenses. I liaised with other hotels and venues while carrying out any other daily duties when necessary, as and when requested. I was responsible for Interviewing and recording the artist either pre or post show. I edited show footage and circulated it online and throughout multiple social media channels having recorded and photographed all events, while assisting the Online Marketing Manager with promotion using this material.
I welcomed all visitors, corresponding with all staff members, governors, parents and families, as well as outside organisations i.e. Social Services & Local Authority. I was responsible for collating and proofreading all the Head & Deputy Head Teachers correspondence and reports as well as all In-year and Nursery admissions, organising open days and home visits. I provided outstanding customer service, dealing with daily queries face to face, via email, post & telephone. I supplied cover as a teaching assistant, agreeing to school policies and procedures as a nominated governor on both the Teaching & Learning and Parent & Community Committees, always committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
I provided young children with enjoyable and active workshops while learning different drama techniques i.e. improvisation, script writing, character and mask work. I independently lesson planned while organising and developing warm-up games and exercises to enhance the children’s imagination and skill so that they work towards creating a final showcase in a professional theatre space for a live audience at the end of the academic year. I had to manage and record the children’s progress and behaviour throughout the academic year while also providing ongoing training to the teaching assistants.
