My role at Bay and Brown has included helping the studio prepare for design shows. Creating a variety of artworks and drawings to assist the designers in creating prints and general day to day studio tasks.
My role here was to create drawings and art work to assist designers in creating prints and also working on my own prints for the company, as well as other day to day studio tasks
My three year degree course was a fashion and textile course that allowed me to explore and learn the skills of both specialisms and learn how to apply them to one another. I gained skills in fashion design but focused a lot of my time on digital and hand printed textile design and considered ways to apply my surface pattern and print designs to a fashion outcome. This eventually lead to me, in my last year creating a final collection of 5 garments that combined the processes of both screen and digital print.
During my foundation year we studied a variety of specialisms for the first month, after which we spent the rest of the course just focusing on one. I chose Textiles which allowed me to start experimenting with different printing methods and finding my handwriting within this specialism.
