Portrait artist working in digital embroidery with 1831 studio.
For three years I have organised the Risograph open access studio at DIY Space for London. I maintain our two machines to produce prints; collaborate with artists, collectives and activist groups, and hold workshops. In my day job I manage print production for music publisher Edition Peters.
Projects
- DIY Space Collaborative ZinesQuarterly zine we produce collaboratively at DIY Space for London, made from text and image entries from all over the world and inspired by the DIY Space Accountability and a different colour of the Riso. I project-managed the zine, formatting the artwork for printing to Riso and teaching a small group to produce a DIY publication from design to print. We received texts and images from local artists and our international community, from Tokyo to Arizona, to Peckham.
- TRANSLATE REWORK PRINTTRANSLATE REWORK PRINT was a two part workshop between DIY Space for London print collective and mother tongues. mother tongues is a working group applying decolonial and queer concepts in exploring language, who hold translation parties throughout London. For the first part of the workshop, we held a translation party at 56a Infoshop and for the second part of the workshop on the 31st of March, activated our research/translations by teaching participants how to print with Risograph at DIY Spa
