Hello. I’m Katie. Nice to meet you. I’ll start from the beginning. Of my advertising career that is. You don’t want to be here all day. In 2014, I graduated with a masters in Creative Advertising. During this year, I was lucky enough to have a road safety script made into a demo ad for Dublin based production company Rocket Science. I also completed a short work experience stint at CHI & Partners in London. The masters led to my first junior copywriter position at WPP agency, Target McConnells. Here, I worked on Vodafone’s below-the-line account producing direct mail and website copy. After a few months at Target, I noticed that The Leith Agency in Edinburgh had reignited their ‘Hotdesk’ internship programme. Having dreamed of working at Leith for years, I had to go for it. A 3-stage application process later, and I found myself in one of the highly sought after hot seats. I enjoyed a 4 month internship, before finally securing a permanent place in The Leith Agency’s creative department. For the past year at Leith, I’ve worked as part of a creative team with a lovely art director called Dan. We’ve enjoyed working on clients like Drinkaware, Great Western Rail (previously First Great Western), the Scottish Government, Famous Grouse, Dobbies, Sourz and Irn Bru. Myself and my partner now find ourselves going our separate ways, and I see this as a great opportunity to try my hand at London’s advertising scene. Hope to chat to you over a coffee soon.
At Leith, I worked on a range of fully integrated campaigns which have included TV, press, outdoor, digital, social and experiential for clients such as Drinkaware, Great Western Rail, Dobbies Garden Centres, Sourz Famous and Grouse and Irn Bru.
Target McConnells is a WPP agency based in Dublin. I worked mainly on the Vodafone account producing direct mail, customer emails and website copy.
