- On ye ways ladsB.A final collection, The inspiration behind my collection was a combination of gender expression and hooliganisum, the gender expression was an interest of mine and the hooliganisum was something that was personal too me. My aim was too focus on hooliganisum and how i was going to iniciate this through my fabrication, so that it could coincide with the form of gender expression through menswear. It was to introduce a form of dress and how we express ourselves through dress, as in being part of a tribe/group i.e hooligan gang cult. Gender expression is how we express gender through being apart of the opposite sex. For example we live in a society that deems dresses appropriate for woman but not for men. The hooligan side was something that took over through my collection being from liverpool i combined fashion and politics together drawing inspiration from the hillsborough disaster and from the 80's. This was something that was apart of me growing up, as my dad was involved in the disaster and is a big liverpool fan, i wanted to introduce this through my collection and research to build a scouser proud collection that had use of impact and depth. i wanted the collection to be mixed with football derived street wear to denigrate what happened and in particular the suns controversial coverage of the disaster which happened on 15th April 1989.
