About me

My background is in design, marketing, brand strategy and crowdfunding. I’m passionate about ideas, bringing them into the world, and helping others do the same. Since 2011 I’ve worked with first-time inventors, entrepreneurs and brands to get their ideas and products to market, either through influencing their brand strategy, or helping them harness the power of the crowd. As an expert in rewards based crowdfunding, I've raised £80k for my own projects on Kickstarter, and $5m for UK and European crowdfunding campaigns as my role as design, technology and hardware manager for Indiegogo. My first successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter allowed me to launch my business designing, manufacturing and selling build-it-yourself analogue pinhole camera kits. Founding The Pop-Up Pinhole Co. has allowed me to help reconnect thousands of people with the physical experience of photography, develop global sales funnels and learn about business from a grass routes level. I've also co-founded a pop-up bar in Hackney, and have built an active community of over 19,000 design lovers on Instagram.

  • As a lover of analogue photography and DIY culture, I founded The Pop-Up Pinhole Co. in 2013 with the aim to get people reconnected with the physical experience of photography. I design, manufacture and sell build-it-yourself analogue pinhole camera kits worldwide, look after all aspects of the day-to-day running of the business and develop and run educational workshops in pinhole photography. Speaking at universities, museums and conferences to share my story, I inspire people to bring their own ideas into the real world. Highlights include; Kickstarter, It's Nice That, University of Brighton, Kingston University, The V&A Museum, Riposte Magazine, The RCA and Epsom College.

  • I co-founded Dalston's first Pop-Up TIKI bar in summer 2016. Setting up the bar from scratch, we covered everything from location sourcing, project management, bar set-up, licensing, stock control, budgeting, menu development, managing the books (inc.cashflow forcast, P&L, GP), promotion, social media, marketing and day-to-day running of the bar. We opened to the public every Thursday - Saturday evening over a two month period in summer 2016 and opened for private events throughout the week including hosing workshops, product launches and private parties.
