About me
My name is Keri Hannah-Pettigrew, and I am a Scottish photographer born and bred in Glasgow, currently based in London. I am a recent communication design graduate from the Glasgow School of Art, and I specialise in studio based and constructed imagery. I am captivated by the technical world of medium and large format analogue photography, and regularly assume multiple roles that are inclusive of: photographer, director, stylist, set designer and prop maker. My approach is often hyperreal, subversive and highly chroma focussed. My practise currently revolves around female identity, body image and the impossible quest for aesthetic perfection.

I had hoped to create challenging images that explored taboo subjects such as bondage, in a nod to how the female nude was once seen when it was first conce

Pretty Hurts‘Pretty Hurts’ is a constructed photo series that follows the character Stacey through her everyday rituals, and seeks to explore society’s obsession with beauty, consumerism and outward appearances. Stacey is a caricature of the several facets concerned with body image expectations, and the stereotypes placed upon women. ‘Pretty Hurts’ is styled in a way that is relatable, yet not instantly recognisable - it’s an amalgamation of eras which is intended to prompt the question: have female body im
