About me
I'm a UK based award winning photographic artist working with photography, moving image and installation. Intuitive and open to experimentation, my work fuses genres as she works at the intersection of portraiture, fashion and documentary, exploring the lines between the boundaries. My practice frequently draws on the influence of the past in today’s world to question the idea of nostalgia, sustainability, consumerism. Creating visual responses to history and its prominence in the now, vintage and secondhand clothing have long been a feature within my work. Achievements include being awarded winning image status in the British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Britain in 2017 and 2019, a finalist in the Graduate Fashion Week Fashion Photography Award 2017 and finalist in the AOP Student Photographer award 2017. I was granted funding to create a new multimedia installation project for the Norwich Fringe Festival 2021 and recently completed a research and development artist residency at the Norwich Shoe Factory.
Projects

  • Portraits of Kiri
Portraits of KiriJust thought I'd share some WIP to show something I'm currently working on from a session with Kiri. We made a mix of stills, video portraits and some moving image too which Kiri is going to create some music in response to. Felt good to be back and getting creative.
  • Portraits of Jordan Wake
Portraits of Jordan WakeWriter Jordan Wake came along to my studio May 2019 to make some new portraits. I was testing for a personal project idea and wanted him to help me explore it. Pooling together our clothes plus a raid of my vintage styling rail, Jordan styled himself and I took care of the set, the creative direction and of course the photography. The results were a mix of colour and black and white, but here's a selection of the black and white edits.

  • Patterned Nostalgia
Patterned NostalgiaPatterned Nostalgia is focused on honest, accessible and joyful surface pattern design applied to a range of surfaces; textiles, wood, Jesmonite and Herculite. The collection is spontaneous and created around Victoria’s emotional response to nostalgia and the everyday occurrences that she notices as a designer. The work is fun expressive and playful; which matches her personality. Each colour, shape and motif has been carefully chosen and holds a deeper meaning to Victoria, providing a sense of
