About me
Born in a refugee camp for Vietnamese boat people in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kevin Truong immigrated with his family to the United States the following year.
Earning his first Bachelor’s degree in economics from Portland State University, he spent the next four years working in youth development programs for various non-profits in Oregon, southern California, New Orleans, and Belize before changing career paths and beginning a second education in the fine arts in 2009.
Currently a photographer living and working in New York City, Kevin received his B.F.A. in photography from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
His dream is to one day do work in the non-profit sector on a larger scale, marrying his passion for social awareness and his belief in the power of art as a tool for visual communication.
His favorite dessert is coconut creme pie.
