Projects
- Equal LightsThe product is a dimming floor lamp which uses unconventional methods to achieve different light intensities and to encourage interaction The lamp uses a pulley system instead of the traditional dimmer switch to emphasise the effort required by the individual to create change. The Pin Up Ladies are all white, as well as presumably straight. This aspect of the design looks at representation in the media and the lack there of for women of colour and LGBTQ+ individuals. It is intended to reflect on our society and show if we view something from a slightly different perspective our understanding of the subject can be altered and enhanced dramatically. The focus of this project is to alter peoples’ perceptions of feminism through the use of hidden facts placed behind the Pin Ups.
