The Scottish LoveliesA series of etching prints of the Scottish female politicians’ portraits inspired by the famous ‘Lager Lovelies‘ cans from Tennents This project questioned on the perception of Scottish females since the 60s, when sexist advertisements was common and women were part of the promotional tool for goods. However, women in the 21st cenntury have played many important roles and contributed to the society, for example, the three leading females in the Scottish politics. In order to celebrate the progress of equality movement, this project has been initiated. ‘The Scottish Lovelies’ is featured on the online interview article of Daily Record, the Scottish newspaper at this link > www.dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/scots-female-politicians-made-lager-8760733

Visibility: coffee • Instagram • hipstersThe culture of visibility is a widespread phenomenon in our modern society. Everyday goods like food and drink have been identified to symbolise people’s social status or identities. I am interested by the relationship between how a specific group of people uses both social media and their consumption to identify themselves as a person.
