About me
Hi. I’m Kristina. I write things for people who need words and come up with ideas that I then make happen. There's not enough room for that on my business card, so I tend to go by 'Copywriter + Production Manager' instead. I’ve written articles, interviews, concepts, presentation decks, talks, bios, website content, blogs, VO scripts, social media captions and love letters to the guy I fancied in my Photography class. His name was Mark. Aside from Mark, I’ve written concepts for Campbell's & Co, French Kiss Records, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and more or less anything Campfire’s done in the last two years. I also got to Produce most of that, which wasn't as bad as it sounds. Before this all began, I sold suits in Edinburgh Airport for a few years. I liked my job because I worked alone and I could plug my phone into the speakers. Most of my time was spent perfecting the windsor knot, recommending city spots to tourists and reading newspapers. Eventually, I ran out of stuff to read and - it got quite boring. So I looked at the things I was alright at - recommending music and places. I figured maybe someone would want to read about those two things. In 2015 I released a print magazine in Scotland called 'Oh My Edinburgh', centred around independent business and music. I was very fortunate to have the support of companies such as Polaroid (then Impossible) and Lomography in the creation of both issues, as well as musicians such as Albert Hammond Jr, The Vaccines and The Maccabees. Since then, the magazine has made an effort to appeal to a wider audience outside of Scotland - now functioning online under the name 'The Socialzine'. Thanks to 'Oh My Edinburgh', I was approached and offered a job at Campfire - a creative agency in Edinburgh who very much needed a Production Manager and Copywriter. So, I gave it a bash. Two years later and they've not fired me yet. Through them I've had the opportunity to write and direct ideas from scratch to producing shoots across the Highlands with up to 60 International crew members. It's definitely a varied role. And I come fully prepared with snacks. But ultimately.. whether I'm helping balance a DoP on a fishing boat, hand crafting a specialised dog jacket for Irn Bru, having a tea party with a musician or alphebetising the cans of San Pellegrino in our office - I always go back to writing ideas. I love ideas. I love to write. And whether I'm asked to or not, both these things tend to happen. So, if anyone wants to put my uncontrollable word splurge to some kind of purpose... Hi. P.S I like animals (a lot), dinosaurs (so much), vinegar (could drink the stuff) and pointy shoes.

Oh My Edinburgh | Issue 001I couldn't get a job as a music journalist and I wanted to talk to my favourite bands about music. So I decided to make a magazine and try it myself. I worked with The Maccabees, HEALTH, The Vaccines and Spectre on my first two issues. Since then, I've worked with Albert Hammond Jr (The Strokes) and other lovely people. I also featured independent businesses and cakes. Check it out via www.thesocialzine.com

Campbells & CoCampfire were approached by Campbells & Co with an interesting incentive. They asked us to create a cutting-edge film, inspired by car commercials and monochromatic luxury …for a salmon company. Needless to say, we were in intrigued. Here, we had the opportunity to put an unexpected twist on tradition and challenge ourselves by asking the question “how do you make salmon cool”?

I decided to release a free print magazine to promote independent business and genuinely good music. I received support from Impossible Film (Polaroid) and Lomography for my two print issues and worked with Albert Hammond Jr, The Vaccines and The Maccabees. I also got to eat a lot of free cake.
