About me
Lamine Jammeh aka Lemzo is a self-taught photographer and videographer. It was first in the practice of hip hop dance that he became aware of the artistic ability to bring people together. Passionate about images from a young age, he first found in photography, then video, a way to leave a mark but also to enhance the subjects. It was by seeing neighborhoods become real marketing products, that he wants to give back to the street what belonged to the STREET. By mixing HIP HOP culture, streetwear and lifestyle; Lemzo invites residents of working-class neighborhoods to take back possession of their spaces, their codes and more broadly, their lives. Solidarity, sharing, cultural richness, resourcefulness are themes that are particularly close to his heart. Each of his pictures seems to say: "WE ARE HERE".
