I am solely responsible for the management of the production for both the ‘Helene Berman’ label and private label at Charles Gray. As a Production Coordinator in a small company I am involved in the full process from range development through to production planning and coordination. This entails working alongside customers to collect, collate and process all PO’s through to delivery to the customer. Working closely with our London-based factory to manage their workload and organise the entire production process. This role is a pivotal self-managed role within the business. Taking charge of my own workload and managing my time, prioritising tasks and building my own critical path. My Roles includes: • Working closely with key customer accounts – being the key source of contact, managing PO from initial buy meeting, entering into our database and raising of confirmations through to delivery of final product to customer. • Understanding different customer requirements – meeting specific demands and timescales – ensuring the factories are aware of different processes based on customer. • Responding to customer product set-up requirements including generating and providing EANs, RRP’s and product tech sheets. Using a variety of programs including GXS, Vendor Central, GS1, FastTrak etc. • Creating and managing Critical Path for each seasons production timeline. • Effective and regular communication with our London based factories – building a relationship – Responsible for managing workload of factory to optimise productivity – creating a weekly Production Priority. Working closely with factory manager to ensure production is on track to meet our deadlines. • Raising, issuing and following through on all production dockets. Ensuring all orders are placed at the correct time to allow enough time for manufacture and packing/distribution to meet customer deadlines. • Ordering all trims and components and ensuring these are coordinated with the production schedule. Being the key contact with suppliers. Sourcing new trims/components and suppliers as required by customer. • Working closely alongside MD and all team members to build trusting relationships. Organising weekly and monthly production meetings to keep everyone up-to-date with production status. • Proficient in Excel as I work daily in a variety of spreadsheets and documents. Using Excel as my focal database to run the production schedule. • Working alongside technical team to ensure production and quality control are running smoothly and in line with Charles Gray specification. • Maintaining all records and PO’s to ensure all information given is correct and up to date.
Managing all purchase orders through to completion of the final product and delivery to the customer. Driving production by being a key point of contact between departments such as design, in-house production and sales. My Role included: • Managing supplier accounts, being the key source of contact and building close relationships with suppliers, both UK-based and International – including Turkey, China, Italy and Austria. Regularly communicating, verbally and in writing, effectively, confidently and clearly, to produce successful, quick results. Creatively solving any arising issues with production or delivery so as not to delay the critical path. • Using on-line database Zedonk to collate all orders including trims and other components. Calculating overages including forward orders and anticipating repeat business from our biggest clients. Proficient and concise use of Excel to easily assemble orders that are internationally legible. • Placing and managing all purchase orders for each season through to completion and delivery – including negotiating costs, production slot allocation and lead times. Ensuring factories have all of the relevant information and up-to-date specs – compiling a production information package for each factory outlining all instructions and details, which must be adhered to. • Managing and approving all lab dips and samples in line with specifications. Working alongside the design team to ensure all departments are happy and the samples are signed off with the factory in a timely fashion. • Working closely and building trusting relationships with clients – 80% of whom were international. The biggest clients being based in the Far-East, Middle-East and European Ski resorts, countries including Russia, Ukraine, China, Japan, Azerbaijan, France, Italy and Austria. Regularly visiting trade shows in countries such as Italy (Pitti Bimbo), Germany (Ispo) and France (Premiere Classe) and selling the collection and writing orders. • Ensuring the critical path is running smoothly – updating and communicating with all suppliers and departments to ensure that product will be delivered correctly and on time, keeping management in the loop and dealing with day-to-day queries to keep production running smoothly. • Hiring and management of Interns, usually 7 graduates or university students who intern for the summer months. Responsible for the selection and interviewing of potential interns and managing them throughout their time at William Sharp. Providing Health and Safety training and training them how to use our machinery correctly and safely. Day-to-Day management and task allocation to ensure that in-house production is running smoothly and efficiently, solving any disputes in a professional manner. • Completing the end of year financial stock take. Reviewing all sales and costs and reporting to my superiors in a logical and succinct manner. • Advising on stock replenishment orders and providing mark down proposals, Monitoring OTB stock. Working closely with E-commerce to discuss the performance of individual items. • Managing a large and demanding workload successfully – understanding the importance of time management.
Focus in: Research and design, 2D presentation including CAD, design realisation, pattern cutting and manipulation of patterns to create original design, concept development, manufacture processes and design development.
