Laura Ben Hayoun is born in 1984, in Valence (France). She lives and work in Paris. After studies in visual anthropology, she follows a MA in Documentary film, and MA in Photography and Contemporary art. Her work questions wanderings, borders and migration. Photography became a place of domesticated violence where it physically foothold, family histories are interpreted as echoes of history. The image is interrogated in its capacity of movement and instability. She is working on mixed media, photography, video, textiles, drawings, installation. She made collective exhibitions solo exhibitions in London (Tate Modern, Source Spotlight), Paris (Festival Circulations, Meetings of the 10th arrondissement, Mois de la photo), in Nice (Festival of Mediterranean Photography), and in Spain (Outono Fotografico) .

From internet images to family stories, from Raymond Depardon to Gillo Pontecorvo's "The Battle of Algiers", René Vautier, Marc Garanger and Henry Alleg's text, I allowed myself to create images between already existing images .
