About me
A motivated and creative journalist and content creator with experience of working for high-profile global companies and their brands. With ten years’ journalism and communications experience, I have developed a wealth of skills in storytelling to a range of audiences, both internally and externally. I am currently the Social Media, Content and PR Manager for the flooring retailer Carpetright, but I am now looking to take on a new challenge in a content-based role. I pride myself on keeping control in challenging work situations and focusing on desired outcomes. I have been the lead in creating new content and strategies for my current employer’s website and social media platforms. I advise the business and the CEO on crisis communications and have worked hard to build a strong and trusted relationship with senior management.     I am responsible for generating all consumer-facing copy and content on all social media channels, targeted emails, blog posts and interior inspiration articles on the Carpetright website, as well as overseeing all PR activity. Responsibilities and Achievements • Running all PR activity, including managing our external PR agency, signing off and approving external messaging, quotes, press releases and dealing with general press queries and issues. Our coverage is currently +153% year on year. • Running all blogger and influencer collaborations to increase brand and specific products awareness. Created relationship with Mrs. Hinch (social media cleaning sensation who has more than 3 million followers) and delivered 278% increase in floor covering sample requests which directly contributed to the company’s 196% increase in sales post-collaboration with Mrs. Hinch. • Reporting into our CEO regarding any crisis communications, or any potential stories that could harm the brand. • Coordinating our twice-yearly Look Book photo shoots and working closely with the Buyers on this. • Responsible for arranging press loans for products to be used on external photoshoots. • Monitoring of social media channels and news outlets for any coverage, ensuring reputation is enhanced. • Writing, revising and editing copy and content on the brand website to boost its SEO capabilities and positioning, as well as managing an external content agency. • Coordinating our corporate partnership with our chosen charity partner, The British Heart Foundation, updating monthly reporting, whilst encouraging stakeholders to fundraise through internal communications and events. • Working closely with our Head of Internal Communications on our Gender Pay Gap report, our LinkedIn profile, our CSR strategy, charity work and any relevant crisis communications internally.
