Projects
- New Statesman commissionJust before the General Election in May 2015, I was commissioned by the New Statesman to conduct a long-form interview with Paul Birch, then leader of the new CISTA party. I was given less than 24 hours to prepare for the interview and even less time to send it over to the subs, but I was happy with the result: long-form interviews are a favourite journalistic medium of mine and I look forward to producing and/or subbing more in the future.
- Upstart Magazine: Creation of a conceptBetween January and July 2015, myself and a small team of people worked hard to produce a new magazine that would address the "human side" of today's business and start-up landscape. This project was part of our MA Journalism course, but became much more than that: from the onset, we put together presentations, marketing strategies, consumer data and market research; we worked with inDesign and Final Cut Pro to present the information in an legible and clear manner and the Upstart project was then approved by a board of professors to be developed into an online and print magazine. I remained on the editorial team as features editor and carried the project forward by engaging cartoonists, photographers and layout designers to produce what became Issue 1 of Upstart magazine in 2015 - an achievement I still am incredibly proud of.
