I work full-time as a designer at my brand Chopova Lowena however I'm open to doing freelance work and working on special projects alongside the brand. Chopova Lowena is a brand comprised of Emma Chopova and myself. We have studied at CSM from Foundation through completing the MA Womenswear course as a duo. Our graduate collection utilises our duality by joining two contrasting themes, 80’s Rock Climbing and Bulgarian tradition dress, to create an aesthetic new in its own right. Drawing from the unlikely parallels which unfold when the references are placed side by side, we came to discover the vivid colour, metal decoration and strong graphic qualities that are mirrored within the two themes. We paired pleated Bulgarian fabrics with climbing hardware and synthetic fabrics in order to modernise the folk elements. We are strongly focused on textiles, outerwear and hardware details. We have just finished working on our next collection which is due to be released in May.
