During my time at TheTin I worked on projects for start ups, such as Beating Heart, and market leaders, such as PwC, o2 and British Gas. My focus was on UX and UI design with the goal to create beautiful, human-centred experiences grounded in strong brand and UX principles.
Delivering web projects is always a team effort and this has allowed me to grow as a collaboratively minded designer. From contributing to workshops in order to develop the brief, working across departments to complete the UX phase, integrating internal and external development teams into the design process to make sure everybody's concerns and ideas are heard, overseeing freelancers and junior designers, and presenting each stage of the project to stakeholders to ensure maximum engagement and transparency.
While working at TheTin Limited one of my responsibilities was to help build the design culture within the company as a whole. From a team perspective this included mentoring junior designers, contributing to early project meetings to make sure there was always a design voice in the room, and assisting the Head of Function in achieving long and short term goals. These goals included helping with the hiring process and the onboarding of new hires, breaking down overarching goals into manageable tasks that could be delegated, and attending and speaking at events.
