Deputy Editor, News Review & Book Serials EditorThe Sunday Times
     - Full Time
As Deputy Editor on the high pressure news features section of the Sunday Times. Responsible for ideas, finding and hiring new writers, commissioning and editing. Ran the section when the editor was away. Presented ideas in conference. Worked with pictures and design to pull the section together on edition. During this period I also looked after Book Serialisations for the Sunday Times. I built key relationships across the publishing industry to land exclusives for all sections of the Sunday Times. Won several deals across the paper including: Michael Palin, John Cleese, Vivienne Westwood, Sol Campbell, as well landing key first interviews with writers David Nicholls and Lena Dunham. Extracted the books, choosing the most compelling section and editing it for the newspaper.
