I have just graduated from the University of Leeds, with a BA Geography & Sociology (International) achieving a 2.1. I am keen to start my career. My passions include sport, travelling and literature.
• I was given a project to research the role of women within accounting, consulting and banking firms. I presented the conclusions to the owner and the head of research at the end of the internship. • The process involved interviews over the phone with contacts identified on the firm’s database as being potential candidates for pre-identified roles. Further information was gathered through online research. The interviews required a confident and upbeat approach on the phone. • As well as using online data sources such as Linked In, I used a number of standard software packages such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and filefinder.
• Working part-time, I conducted door-to-door surveys to support targeted marketing campaigns. The data that was compiled was used to analyse consumer trends for school children in the Hunter Valley. • Over a period of 6 months I carried out 60 interviews with family members to ask them questions about their children’s schooling. Each interview required 5 minutes of their time and required strong levels of persuasiveness and an ability to build rapport and trust with the interviewees.
I achieved a 2.1
