About me

I am an approachable, enthusiastic and determined professional with a keen interest in public relations, communications and marketing. I have recently graduated from Newcastle University with a BA in Sociology (achieving a 2:1), which has helped me develop skills such as analytical reasoning and verbal and written communications. My determination, combined with my ability to work cohesively within a team, makes me well suited to work in a variety of company environments. Moreover, my desire to excel and the ability to pick things up quickly means that I will meet the high standards required of the job. I have achieved a solid reputation for being passionate, hands on, efficient and reliable. I was awarded a deferred place to Newcastle University, giving me the opportunity to spend time abroad travelling. Travelling parts of Asia and India allowed me to develop key skills, such as planning, problem solving, communication, decision making and managing budgets. In June 2017, I travelled to Zambia as part of a team for a charity that teaches children to play tag rugby. This was extremely challenging not having language as a commonality, however, extremely rewarding. This trip helped me to improve my understanding of other cultures. I also believe volunteering and helping the community is extremely important. I am a part of CRISIS Newcastle – a community which offers guidance and services to homeless people throughout the UK.

    • I am currently undertaking an internship in the consumer practice team at BCW, a multinational public relations and communications firm, and part of the WPP network. Responsibilities include: - Daily media monitoring of relevant brands in online and paper media outlets - Creating media lists of appropriate media outlets, journalists and influencers for brands to contact - Event planning – from selecting the venue to ordering of supplies - Attending events to ensure smooth running - Sending press packages and ensuring the correct team receives them.

    • I assisted the junior brand manager & senior brand manager in the Oral care team and Wellness team at GSK consumer healthcare. Responsibilities included: - Assisting in allocating allergy brand Advertising & Promotion investment (£3m+) into the most effective channel across TV, digital, social and partnership etc - Analysed and conducted a report of allergy brand target audience to analyse consumer purchase behaviour - Participated in the allergy brand 2019 social media listening debriefing session to understand the allergy market trends and report back for relevant market insights to drive new business opportunity - Led No.1 UK allergy brand Piri website URL mapping execution for the renovation of brand website - Assisted Oral Care brand manager to draft a £50k PR campaign brief pack to generate mass awareness of the brand - Co-lead allergy competitor research pack to understand the 4Ps (product, place, price and promotion) impact to GSK allergy brands
