I am an ambitious visual creative and recent first class graduate of Creative Direction for Fashion at London College of Fashion. I am looking for opportunities to deploy the skills developed through education and work experience in creative, fashion and media industries. My interest lies in creative art direction with emphasis on concept development through advanced research using a variety of methods along with an understanding of brands and an awareness of markets and audiences. Gaining the knowledge of these areas has helped me to understand contemporary creative practice within fashion promotion and communication. My critical and analytical approach to creative problem solving has also given me the ability to propose innovative and forward-thinking concepts. I have a range of technical skill sets - from traditional graphic design, photography and moving image through newer media such as projection mapping and interactive design. These skills allow me to effectively communicate my ideas and apply the fundamentals of visual communication and design principles in the contexts of publications, spaces and brand identity. I’m a proactive team player able to work on my own initiative. I have proven communication skills and an aptitude for working well in pressured contexts; always finishing tasks on time with a reliably high level of quality. I always approach challenges as opportunities, to both realise my potential and increase my value as an asset to my employer.
I have been working with international make-up artist Nat Van Zee on her VANZEE organic beauty brand and platform. I have developed the brand’s logo as well as consulted on the visual identity, created social media content and product’s set design visuals.
I have assisted the Art Director with the ‘Portfolio Conversation’ project which was a part of Buffalo Zine's issue 3. My job was to coordinate and ensure successful delivery of the sections 'Letters' and 'Conversations' on time and within budget. My duties were contacting artists and other collaborators and handling copyright.
My role was to help the team with research and concepts for Creative Campaigns for Fashion Brands such as: Gucci SS15, Dundop SS15, Public School SS15, Zara SS15, Prabal Gurung SS15 etc. My other duties were archiving fashion magazines, design books and lookbooks.
My role was included creating window and in-store display, special displays to promote offers, organise trend reports & trend training, deciding how to use space creatively, monitoring sales and giving feedback to head office .
My BA degree has focused on how creative direction is used to communicate messages about and around fashion. In the context of this course, creative direction refers to the strategic use of communication design in order to attract and engage audiences whilst ensuring the intended message is clear and compelling. The impacts of social and cultural trends, globalisation and emerging digital technologies within fashion communication are central to the course.
Explored developments within media and communication relevant to the consumption of the fashion process, and gained an understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of fashion media and the historical and contemporary culture of fashion.
