I am a Sheffield based freelance designer with a number of years experience in the industry, both in house and with agencies. I aim to build long term business relationships with my clients by having an open and honest, collaborative approach to the way I work.
I have worked across sectors including charity, the arts, education, retail and corporate business for clients ranging from start-ups and independent crafts people to large corporate institutions.
Projects
- GCSE Choices, Sheffield High School for GirlsDesigned to compliment the other print I have designed for Sheffield Girls', this prospectus was aimed at current students of Sheffield High School for Girls who are about to start to studying towards their GCSEs. Photography of the girls (taken by India Hobson) either in lessons or staged were incorporated into the design to break up the design of the spreads and give an insight into the school learning experience.
- High Times Magazine, Sheffield High School for GirlsHigh Times is an annual publication produced by Sheffield High School for Girls to showcase their many achievements and successes over the academic year. I was asked to completely redesign the magazine. Through the creation of clear sections and careful application of the brand colours I created an editorial layout that was clear and enticing to read. The use of circles, as well as referencing the referenced the logo of school's parent company, GDST act as a devise to hold images and highlight quotes.
- Sixth Form Options, Sheffield High School for GirlsI redesigned Sheffield High School for Girls Sixth Form Options to bring it in line with their new brand and to showcase the facilities and opportunities available to the prospective Sixth Formers. Shown here are a selection of the Prospectus spreads.
- Nether Edge Festival 2016Briefed to re-design the identity for a fun, vibrant and family friendly Festival – I jumped at the chance to get involved with this volunteer run, community festival. The residents of Nether Edge are a diverse bunch of all ages and races, so it was important that the print and online were as clear and easy to follow as possible. With that in mind, as well as designing a responsive website, I designed a set of icons for use in the programme and on the website, to show people which category the event fell under. To help make the Festival identity eye-catching I illustrated a number of flowers and animals that were then applied to all the brand collateral.
- Sparklewren Look BookAimed at fashion publications and prospective clientele the Look Book was designed to showcase Sparklewren's work. The singer stitched binding method physically linked the Look Book to the corsets. The spreads were designed to give prominence to the images with the essays being laid out in a very simple and clear format, so as not to distract from them.
- Civica EXPO 2016An annual event, this was the first Civica EXPO since their rebrand and was an opportunity for their clients to see and engage with it. The colours and triangles from the rebrand were used create patterns and backgrounds. These formed part of the navigational system, creating zonal areas and helping the attendees navigate around the space. Designed while at Whitespace.
