Reservoir Minerals is an international mining company headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. This company for the first time faced civil referendums against its work in Macedonia. Referendums against the mining industry have never been held anywhere in the world. This situation makes us the first people, who work in the public relations industry, to face this type of crisis. The challenge for me as a Public Relations Officer was to create and implement strategies and media campaigns in order to boost the image of the company and change the perception of the local population. This includes communication with the media (written and electronic), communication with non-governmental organizations and associations, preparation of material for promotion of the company, lobbying, maintaining a relationship with the stakeholders, communication with the senior management of the international company, and so on.
