Currently based in the creative industries where I run a photographic, film, sound and lighting department helping our clients to realise their ambitions and visions and ensure they can bring this to reality. Having gained skills in various different sectors including finance, retail and publishing I have a multitude of different talents that are of benefit to any organisation I am a part of. With an inquisitive mind and a thirst for knowledge I am continuously working on my self development in order to be the best at what I do and to inspire confidence in the people around me to achieve the same.
Currently managing a headcount of 12 people, to facilitate the smooth operation and hire of photographic, film, sound and lighting equipment for B2C and B2B clients. My current tasks on a day to day basis involve booking in client requests using database system, managing integrity of photographic, film and lighting equipment, stock management including investment, customer account management, back office administration, understanding of P&L and how to manage this area and team development and coaching.
Contextualised within the frame work of mass media my course enabled me to gain new knowledge of cultural change in a contemporary context and increase my awareness of critical issues. Develop new skills in critical thinking and the ability to express myself in writing, presenting and media production. Gain practical experience of research, critical reflection and self assessment. Practice synthesising ideas and applying them to real world scenarios. As a result I gained Competency in a range of technical skills including managing IT databases and word-processing, research organisation and execution of analytical writing and presenting. Having this exposure also meant I gained experience in a range of media technologies, including skills in analogue and digital media formats.
