About me
My name is Leroy Magai, but most people know me as Yorel Cairo. I am a film maker and photographer based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I love to search and find that precise angle to tell a story. Last year I won the Pioneers Award with my short movie "Baker Boyz" at the Night of the Almeerse Film Festival. I wrote and directed this movie. I am also a creative writer. Published a poetry book and a short stories book. Being healthy is important to me. You can find me in the gym at least 3 times a week. Keep the body healthy and the mind sharp. -Creating is a way of life in which you find your true self-
Projects
  • YORELUTION X APT918
YORELUTION X APT918This project came to be via a collaboration with Dutch music producer David Wattien aka APT918. I've worked with him on two lyric video's before and this time it was a more creative art collab. I work as a freelancer under my own company called Yorelution. Yorel is also how many people know me...since Yorel is Leroy backwards. We used a beamer and beamed different images on the wall. We had APT918 standing infront of it.

Awards
    Pioneers Award
Won the Pioneers Award for my short Dutch film " Baker Boyz" during the Evening of the Almeerse Film Festival (Avond van de Almeerse Film Festival). The award was given by a jury of Dutch peers in the film industry. One of them is Eddy Terstal, who made big Dutch movies such as Soldaat van Oranje, and producer San Fu Maltha who produced the movie Black Book (Zwart Boek) which was directed by Paul Verhoeven.
