I am a visual designer, currently working as Senior Brand Designer at Ticketmaster. I design digital solutions for clients and craft objects for myself. I started my design journey in 2001 when I started studying Advertising and later Audiovisual Communication. Corel Draw was my first vector software and I remember doing small flash animations for a digital newspaper I used to work for. At the time, I had little knowledge of all the concepts and tools that have become part of my toolset and routines these days. Equally, I know that many image principles and concepts are timeless – they still, and will continue to, make sense whatever new devices and communication channels get introduced. This UX/UI role is focus to improve the experience of the YouView TV Box.
As International Brand Designer at Ticketmaster I’m a team of one. Supporting more than 14 markets, I build logos, icons, marcoms and provide design guidelines, organise the brand libraries. I’m advise on brand design and (I like to believe) inspire the teams creatively. As a brand guardian, I created designs across different formats: digital, editorial, ambient design, presentations and merch for internal projects (B2B / B2C). This experience thought me how to approach design for different stakeholders and clients beyond its aesthetics or establishing workflows but being proactive and responsible for each of the projects that I was tasked with in a wider sense. I am also enjoying helping the company to find the right talent and to guide the new interns to understand our design workflows.
I was part of the team that redesigned Ticketmaster’s main e-commerce site which is being used across 10 international markets. This was a huge project but welcomed opportunity to work and learn. I drew responsible in the initial stages for designing wireframes during workshops, defining the look-and-feel and creating UI patterns. Working closely with the UX team, I provided UI variants for MVT (Minimum Viable Tests), two simple versions of which you can see below. In addition, I created landing pages, ads and icons for different products as part of the wider project, as well as seasonal creativities and events. The project offered me great learnings and insight into such a wide-ranging project and opportunity to understand an e-commerce website from different angles, markets and goals.
I was working for this startup company during four months. It was an exciting experience working for first time in a startup and native apps: MeetQute, MyBrana and Snapply.
During these studies I got basis of communication & design around the subjects: -Audio-visual (Graphic Design, Web Design, Photography, Video, Radio, Television, Art History and Image Theory & Analysis). - Marketing & Advertising (Business Theory, Buying Sociology, Creativity, Marketing and Advertising). - Communications (Communication Theory, Propaganda, Contemporary Thinking History, Public Relationships and Copywriting).
Through this course I have learnt how to undertake a UX project from beginning to the end.
