I am a reliable and intuitive individual with proven team-working skills in mostly retail and sales based jobs. I attended Edinburgh Napier University where I studied a BA in English & Film, whilst also working in retail for Next. In 2014 I moved to London and have progressed in my role whilst gaining more knowledge of the retail and fashion sectors, which I believe are the keys to my success. I believe that I am very sociable and have the ability to communicate easily with a variety of personalities, as well as employing the ability to adapt to any work environment as I love meeting new people and working in a team to achieve a common goal and meet targets.

  • I am currently the senior Sales Manager of Menswear and Homeware in the Brent Cross branch of Next. Here, I am responsible for 40 members of staff across both of these departments, as well as over 100 staff total in the store. My position requires me to be responsible for the commercial activity across my departments, as well as the operational and administrative areas that affect my departments directly, and across the entire store. These include compiling and reviewing trade reports, data analysis and problem solving. Human Resources and recruitment are also included in my job role, as well as communication internally and externally to neighbouring stores and our Head Office. Along with these responsibilities, people focus is my main aim, along with the training and development of my staff being at the heart of my work. As well as actively pushing for progression from my members of staff, I am also responsible for the development of the junior management team in store, and for promoting the ethos that quality customer service is paramount, along with the fair and equal treatment of the members of staff in our store.

  • I worked in a large production team for ‘Friday Night With Jonathan Ross’, running errands for senior employees, preparing work stations and dressing rooms for every area of work within the company. Four days of the week were spent in an office doing administrative work and the other working day was in a television studio. This was a work experience placement that I took part in three times over the course of one year.
