Projects
  • Student Mental Health workshops
Student Mental Health workshopsWorking with a group of 11 students from BA Graphic Design (Manchester School of Art) through a series of workshops I devised to explore their experiences of mental health whilst at university. After a discussion, the artworks were co-created between each student and myself through drawing conversations about a range of issues that came up. This project was a commissioned by the Wellcome Trust to illustrate Anna Lewis’ article about the student mental health crisis, published on Mosaic Science

  • Anonymous Letters (Studio Tej)
Anonymous Letters (Studio Tej)An audio installation of short, unsigned letters installed as listening stations in the London YMCA Central building. These words of encouragement, of thanks, of support, of doubt, of anger, quietly act as a poetic provocation to invite curiosity around wellbeing. This rolling loop of mp3 readings was installed at five locations around London YMCA Central during September and October 2016, showcasing a wonderful range of expressions and anonymous human connections. • Youth workshops - Whitworth Gallery
Youth workshops - Whitworth GalleryPlanning and delivering workshops for the Whitworth Gallery's youth group (16-25 year-olds) around internal and external calm. Activities included exploring nature within the city, curating tiny spaces and breathing techniques. Photos by Sophie Lee.
  • Pioneering Places workshops
Pioneering Places workshopsExploring a child-led process with Year 3 pupils at Ramsgate Arts Primary School, centring on Ramsgate Harbour. I worked with a small delivery team to create weekly workshops informed by the children’s interests. Over the course of the school year, this evolved to become a collaboration with the children, pushing ideas of art, the place they live and how it is experienced.
  • Welcome to Mitcham (Studio Tej)
Welcome to Mitcham (Studio Tej)Studio Weave & Merton Council commission to paint a 30m stretch of fence to welcome people to Mitcham and direct to the town centre. Our initial idea centred around the well-used, beautiful allotment that lies on the other side of the fence. Research we did with allotment owners gave us a wealth of knowledge and information that led us to make a hand-painted seasonal food chart containing as much of this as possible. A Studio Tej project.
