At the end of 2014, I was offered the opportunity to take my digital and marketing experience and become a Marketing Manager at Atlantic Records. I was offered the role as the ‘blue print’ of how Marketing Managers should become, with a solid grounding of the digital and social media industry. My role was broadened greatly and whilst initially entailed development of new skills in production and delivery deadlines, I also relearned skills in commissioning photo shoots. Styling for artists for live and promotional appearances and also largely involved with releasing US and German repertoire in the UK. I learnt quickly how to develop an artist who has a sizeable domestic fan base in a new territory, how to consider their international releases into a UK timeline and how to adapt international strategy across different countries to ensure the biggest impact in one market. I also was responsible for notable US artists that lack reliable fan bases who can be super - served with content, having to understand how to translate a highly played radio single into a tangible product ensured a custom plan different to a developing artist.
