I am a multidisciplinary designer with a main focus on user experience and graphic design. I have a background in book and editorial design that strongly informs the way I design for web and mobile. I work at the intersection of user research, product design and visual design. I have worked with multiple early stage start ups translating ideas from vague concepts into fully functioning and successful digital products. It's important to me that I work on projects that solve a problem and have a positive impact. That's why I started my own community focused on sustainable living called And The Future?.Locked Pro Plan feature
Ferly is an audio guide to mindful sex. Ferly takes women on a journey of self-discovery through engaging and interactive audio content. As the Lead Product Designer I have taken the Ferly App from research and discovery stage to a fully functioning App on the App Store within 8 months (this includes an Alpha and a Beta version). This has lead us to secure successful funding. My responsibilities reached from carrying out user research, translating the insights into product decisions as well as making sure the Ferly brand is consistently represented on all channels.
I joined 11FS as a contractor to support the work on developing a forward looking bank account for small and medium business owners. I joined the design team which consisted of a Head of Design and four other designers, whilst simultaneously working in a product mission team dedicated to a specific part of the product.
I joined the Experience Design Team at Partners Andrew Aldridge to support the team on a few projects including work for clients such as e.on, Open Banking and The Post Office. I was responsible for carrying out user research in the lab and writing insights reports. I also assisted with creating wireframes and drafting out the user experience and interactions for a big online campaign.
Coconut is the current account for freelancers. The Coconut mobile App takes away the stress of banking and accounting by offering a tax forecast and giving people an easy and delightful way of logging their expenses and sending invoices. As their first product designer I helped the founders take their wireframes and idea from discovery through to a fully functioning App on the App Store that is now being used by thousands of freelancers every day.
After attending their very first coding bootcamp SuperHi approached me to help improve the interface of the SuperHi beta web app. SuperHi is an online coding platform that makes coding websites easy and accessible. Based on my own experiences whilst learning coding and feedback from peers we iterated on the layout of the code editor and added features such as a preview functionality with a resizing handle and 'little helper' tooltips.
citizenme is a London based Start Up that helps people take control of their data and allows companies harness the power of this data to do market research. I worked on both the B2B and the B2C products including a web app as well as a smartphone application (both iOS and Android). I carried out a lot of research for both products via running focus groups, co-creation workshops with stakeholders as well as interviews and quantitative research. I was responsible for the redesign of the mobile apps from wire framing to shipping at beginning of March 2016.
My responsibility was updating the presentation decks and website with updated branding materials for IDEO's product OIEngine. I have also been working closely with the consulting team to curate the case studies and content of their web presence.
The job was very versatile and the responsibilities reached from Branding and Editorial Design to illustration and packaging. Due to the studio being very small I was in direct contact with all of my clients and also gained vital skills in terms of project presentation and pitching.
After having studied Design for Graphic Communication at LCC, London - a course with a strong focus on Design Thinking and Human-Centred Design - I had a good understanding of User Experience Design and how to develop user focused products. But having worked in this field for over a year now most of my knowledge surrounding this topic was self taught. To fill in the gaps and get an even better understanding I have started the UX part time course at General Assembly to strengthen my skills even more.
