Due to the nature of the events I’ve been involved in; The Edinburgh International Television Festival, BBC Skills Show and Power to the Pixel. I have a lot of experience managing many different deadlines and projects concurrently.
The lead producer for an event looking at the aftermath of freedom of expression in media after the Paris attacks on Charlie Hebdo. Brought together a panel of leading media industry figures to debate the key issues. Sourced footage and put together the edited VT's for the session. o Producer for the BBC Village and Live Stage for the Skills Show held at the NEC in Birmingham o Brought together twelve different BBC departments to participate in their own ‘Hub’ area. o In conjunction with the overarching theme of the Skills Show, I worked with each department to develop their content appropriately. o Booked high profile guests from BBC shows for the Live Stage over three days; including dancers from Strictly Come Dancing, Robbie Savage, Adil Ray and Sarah Solemani. I booked all of these guests to appear with no fee, as we had a small budget for the event, which displays my ability to negotiate under tight budgets and deadlines. o Directed all the daily stage hosts from BBC West Midlands. o I produced everything from the wall graphics, VT’s for stage show, running orders and schedules, and all technical requirements for each of the individual ‘Hubs’. o Completed all travel requirements for guests, registered all BBC staff and met all Health and Safety requirements. o Managed and directed the on site crew and called the show during the live stage show. o Worked with the stakeholders at the Skills Show to ensure the BBC partnership met with their expectations.
o The lead producer of a six-day immersive residential workshop in Gemany called The Pixel Lab. The Pixel Lab is the ultimate cross-media workshop for European media professionals. o My main responsibilities included the delivery of the event, managing the project timelines and schedules, and the team’s duties within the event. o Overall management of the application process from over 200 European creatives hoping to gain a place on the scheme. o Drawing up all the contracts and invoices to successful participants. o Booking travel including all flights, coaches and VIP cars, for speakers, tutors and participants. o Created all print materials, including main programme, flyers and banners. o Completed all funding applications and sponsorship documents, including post-event evaluation reports. o Worked with the venue manager at the hotel to organise all room hires, dinners and drinks receptions, thoroughly managing the budget of €250K. o Onsite management of production crew, running all session VT's and presentations.
o Editorially responsible for bringing together prominent voices and creating sessions that cover current issues and themes of the television industry. o Booked highly regarded leading industry professionals to deliver keynote speeches at the Festival. Highlight bookings included; Kevin Spacey, Vince Gilligan, Steve Levitan & Gideon Raff. o Actively produced sessions at the Festival, working closely with producers to develop and deliver content for the event. o Produced the Channel of the Year Awards; past hosts include Dara O Briain, Michael McIntyre and Jack Whitehall. I re-launched the awards, implementing new categories to recognise the innovations of cable and online broadcasters. o Managed a series of world premiere screenings at The Filmhouse in Edinburgh and at The Roundhouse in Camden; speakers include Steven Moffat, Victoria Wood, Olivia Coleman and Greg Davies. o Managed the content and design for the website and printed programme. o Devised and produced the annual I Love TV Quiz alongside the Festival Launch Party, I wrote the quiz, sourced the venue and booked the host. o Oversaw the budget for all travel and accommodation for special guest speakers. o Managed the panellist coordinator to book speaker travel and accommodation. o Managed all press enquiries, implementing timelines for publicity and onsite management of key press interviews. o Recruited and managed 30 freelancers to work in various roles over the Festival, editorially managed the Researcher over a 3 month period and the production teams and co-managed them on site.
o Generated news ideas, produced interviews and news packages for the Breakfast and Drive time bulletins.
o Planned and coordinated the news events for the Lunchtime Bulletin. Liaised with the Home News Editor on what stories to cover.
