About me

The mix of applied design, research and written observations makes me happy being in the field of design. I began my education at Parsons School of Design, Paris, and continued with a masters at the Royal College of Art, London, followed up by working at Pentagram, for several years. Currently I am Host and Co-founder of Typeradio, a podcast station on type and design and Creative Director at Studio Dumbar (part of Dept), Rotterdam, a unique design studio that focuses on visual identity. My extracurricular activities include: Letters to LoveLiza – an ‘agony aunt’ column where I dispense wisdom, wit and advice to designers all over the world; Design Rhymes – a series of pathetic poems about design; Books LoveLiza – an ongoing catalogue of images and reviews inspired by my bibliophilic tendencies; And occasionally short ridiculous contributions to various publications.
