- Processing orders/queries/complaints by email, telephone and social media. - Writing and sending e-newsletters. - Copywriting product descriptions on the website. - Input in new ranges, styling for photoshoots. - Creating Jane Packer hatboxes and bouquets. - General office maintenance, PA duties for line manager.
- Processing invoices, working with suppliers and other departments During my time at the NHS, we transitioned between two different financial systems, which involved learning the new system, educating suppliers on the changes and training up new staff members.
As Admin assistant at a busy silk supplier, I had to work with different departments to co- ordinate orders, lead times and keep customer details up to date. I was constantly under pressure to keep the supply chain moving, which meant chasing up orders from suppliers and payment from client. This taught me to communicate to different levels verbally and through email.
Working on two very different disciplines taught me the importance of prioritising and balancing workloads, which I now apply to my professional life. Creative writing is an area which is unforgiving of errors and mistakes, which taught me to take care and pride in the work I do. In Textiles I specialised in illustrative embroidery, working in different mediums to different fashion and interior related briefs.
