As an interior designer I strive to create interiors that are authentic and emotive. Studying History of Art has given me a different approach to interior design, allowing an innate and in depth understanding of style, space, composition and colour which I apply to the creative direction of every project. I approach each project and client individually but with the same love of detail.
Having worked in the industry for five years, I went freelance at the beginning of this year. As a designer my strength lies in creating interiors that feel layered and organic, developing a strong, cohesive identity which I weave throughout every detail of the scheme, rather than relying on themes or trends which date. I apply an intuitive approach to each project to create environments that feel authentic, rather than contrived. This, alongside my background in History if Art, I feel makes me different from other interior designers and is why I've chosen to go freelance.
I have strong project management and creative direction skills, and am able to confidentially manage and run projects from initial conception to final dressing. I'm able to work to a budget successfully, using my vast (and beloved!) network of contacts and suppliers to ensure that the overall look and feel isn't compromised. I also have extensive experience in FF&E and showhome design, and a strong styling background which underpins all of my work.
Please note that I work with a freelance technician and am adept at both full project design as well as working with an existing design team to focus on furniture, finishes, lighting, accessories and styling. I also undertake interior styling projects on a case by case basis. I'm based in Cornwall but regularly work in London, and am available to work remotely.
