I was that little boy running around the woodland pretending to be a magical being rather than sat inside watching TV – always drawn to beautiful things in nature, admiring those minute details that make life wonderful. While I no longer make a mean mud pie, my vivid imagination continues to inspire my creative work. I've pitched ideas to JWT, Fold7, Collective, The Hub & TBWA. I’m very sociable, and love to travel and meet new people, documenting inspiring moments on my camera as I go. Design has always been a great love of mine, from products, interiors, and architecture, to fashion and illustration. At home I can be found either tending to the garden or laying down vocals on my forever forthcoming EP. Being surrounded by nature and living a more conscious lifestyle is always important to me. Wild Card specialise in luxury food, drink, and lifestyle brands. I assisted with social media, digital marketing, campaign, and content management, including writing creative copy and some video editing. I worked to raise awareness and drive events and promotions, in keeping with established brands’ tone of voice.
Volunteer Cornwall is a charity which develops individuals and communities through voluntary action. I helped promote volunteering opportunities through social media campaign management and the production of marketing materials including print and copywriting. I organised various events to drive engagement, and performed general admin duties including taking meeting minutes. I proactively researched the local sector to target volunteering opportunities to specific local demographics, and to approach and establish links with potential new affiliate organisations.
I gained a broad knowledge and excellent understanding of the communications sector. I have explored various career avenues such as campaign creation in art direction, copy writing, product branding, brand strategy and planning, and digital marketing (SEO, PPC, Analytics). I have extensive experience working within a creative team, pitching ideas for live client briefs to reputable global ad agencies, such as JWT, Fold7, Collective, The Hub, and TBWA. Some of our ideas were very well-received as viable campaigns. This element of the course taught me the relationships involved in the B2C and B2B processes, which developed my organisational and confident public speaking skills. I studied the psychology behind consumer behaviours and motivations, allowing me to better interpret market research and demographic analysis. I received a first for my dissertation, focussed on retail giant H&M, exploring the fast fashion world in the age of the conscious consumer.
I studied fashion illustration, garment design and construction for theatre and screen, including contextual and period theatre research. I learned to expand my creative ambitions and how to take the lead as a self-starter in group projects, to deliver creative theatre productions with limited resources.
The foundation was a incredibly explorative and creatively free period, I delved into many different artistic areas such as; Graphics Fine Art Illustration Drawing Textiles Photography Printmaking 3 Dimensional design Sculpture This course allowed me to filter through different areas of Art & Design and focus specifically on a specialised area, the fashion and illustration pathway. This enabled me to progress my specialism to study at degree level - progressing on to study at Wimbledon College of Art.
