Working in an agile environment on a variety of products which included e-commerce, complex websites and bespoke CMS. Integral to development I worked closely with marketing teams and product managers to gather requirements, designed and ran workshops which identified user needs and stakeholder goals. Produced workflows and user journeys which I then wireframed and demo’d using Invision in order test ideas quickly. Created high fidelity prototypes and showcased them through Invision to enable the presentation of concepts and evidence-based recommendations to senior decision makers and stakeholders. I wrote succinct user stories for developers which accompanied clickable prototypes - ensuring handover and all assets leave no room for blockers. I championed a human centred approach within the agency and throughout the various projects by creating reusable UX assets and templates which were then leveraged across all the product teams, and I offered UX training and guidance to other members of staff interested in the field.
Digital Design Working for the Northern and Shell advertisement sales team I produced website homepage takeover mockup’s for their potential clients which required a fast turnaround and high volume output whilst understanding clients business goals and interpreting many different briefs quickly and accurately. Advertisement Design At News Corp, I worked in a fast paced and dynamic environment where I excelled in creating engaging and diverse promotional products from holiday giveaways, World Cup campaigns to fantasy football leagues. The varied projects encompassed the brand identity and conveyed content in an easy to digest manner for customers. Layout Design Working at OK! Boutique, News Corp and Title Sussex I produced intuitive layouts, overhauled style guides and reusable patterns libraries to combat fragmented interaction components and create a compelling design experience for target customers. 3D Integration At Snug Mattress Ltd I integrated 3D visualisation artwork into photographic images to produce clear, concise and meaningful infographics in order to communicate the companies patented memory foam technology. Identity and Branding From breweries and vocalists to legal services, I have created tailored client branding, engaging visual identities and bespoke iconography. All achieved by focusing on the customer needs and weaving their vision into my designs.
Taught Industrial Design to A-level students focusing on collaboration, problem-solving and user centred design. Curated schemes of work which included essential materials and processing skills routed in computer-aided design and manufacturing. I also designed and delivered staff and student training and mentor programs for software implementation into the school curriculum. Tangible results shown via improvement of all cohorts’ grades while employed at every school.
This degree equipped me with the behavioural theory, design practice and technology know-how to move into the UX arena. It focussed on the analysis, design, prototyping and evaluation of multimedia, multi-modal, and multi-platform user interfaces that are intuitive to use and support a great user experience.
A dual pathway degree which focussed heavily on industrial design, identifying and evaluating user needs and critiquing products from a human-centred perspective. Additionally, I had to design and conceptualise solutions for complex problems using various methods for stakeholders. The degree provided substantial training in the core areas of design including drawing, graphics and problem-solving.
