Work history

2015

Intern

Morton Young & Boland Textiles

Jun 2015 - Jul 2015
  • United Kingdom
  • Internship
  • I won a 6 week internship through a University project for MYB Textiles. Here my duties included organising and filing fabric samples for the archives.

2012

Intern

Lisa Shawgi

Jun 2012 - Sep 2012
  • Dublin, Ireland
  • Internship
  • During the summer of 2012 I got an internship with Irish knitwear designer Lisa Shawgi. I worked with Lisa on her autumn/winter 2012 collection also helping her make garments for the collections photoshoot. I worked mainly on knitting machines to make and create the required pattern, texture and shape for Lisa's garments.

2010

Intern

Deirdre Harte

Nov 2010 - Dec 2010
  • Kilkenny, Ireland
  • Internship
  • I worked with Deirdre as her intern while she was the artist in residence in Kilkenny Arts Office. I assisted Deirdre with the project she was working on at the time which was a upcycling knitwear project. We gathered lots of second hand knitwear from charity shops and accepted donations off the public. Then deconstructed/unravelled the garments so they could be remade into modern and wearable art pieces. To keep people interested in what was going on I set up the window display daily from the full garments hanging to the unwound wool to show the progress of what was happening.
