I am currently on a 12 week placement with Flatpack Projects. My duties include: watching our short film programmes and creating interesting and gripping trailers for each one, creating corresponding posters for the programmes, transferring film files, editing images on photoshop. I have also been assisting the director and project managers by editing archive footage of Balsall Heath in 1968 for a special exhibition held in Ort Gallery, Birmingham in March 2018. During the Flatpack Film Festival itself, I will be responsible for assisting the smooth running of the programme, working closely with the technical team, making sure venues are suitable and they have the right film files.

A summer placement with a German based snow effects company. During my time there, I assisted in an eclectic range of duties. Firstly, we travelled to the O2 World in Hamburg to conduct a snowfall inspection, which I assisted with. I also assisted in this capacity on multiple film sets. Later on in the placement, I assisted in a Locations Assistant capacity - I liaised with Snow Business' Managing Director and the Locations Executive from Bridge of Spies (Spielberg, 2015) and The Studio Babelsburg.

I am currently studying at the University of Birmingham, due to finish at the start of September. Throughout this degree I have been taught invaluable research methods in reference to film, I have planned and filmed a visualisation of a piece of text, and I have pitched an original television show idea to a panel of industry professionals. I am currently in the portion of the Masters where I complete a placement with a local film company. I chose Flatpack Projects because they are doing incredible work in their field and I am interested in going into that same field. After my placement finishes, I will have to plan, shoot and edit my own 25 minute documentary.

Throughout my three years at Kent, I studied a wide range of film modules both practical and theoretical. I wrote my own 20-page script, I worked on 5 student films and a mini-series. I organised an immersive screening event of The Blair Witch Project. I studied Gothic Film, Scandinavian Film, and Animation among many others.
